My dear friend Arden celebrated her birthday on April 10th - and yes! It took me this long to blog about it. It was a fun time. We karaoked the night away. Arden actually blogged about it earlier. We all had a great time, but sadly Vanessa's crazy karaoke antics weren't in top form. She was actually pretty passive. Strange, since she usually turns into a karaoke monster with extreme amounts of energy.
There were quite a few characters at the karaoke bar. One - which I shall name Quinn - we have seen before. She is SUPER into the singing and has a good voice, but that's the problem. It's like she's showcasing her talents to the uninterested masses. She sings James Brown songs and then some shitty songs, but it's just HILARIOUS because she's trying so hard to prove her talent. So, we snapped a few pictures of her. Arden also ran into her outside and apparently Quinn's BF was in some magazine. So, Quinn gave Arden the mag (which she conveniently had in her purse) and now Arden has her name, address and such. Radical!) Also! Quinn tried singing a song and her equally attention-seeking friend stole the mic from her. Quinn just got all pissed/sad and said "Hey! Hey... that's my song..." and sipped on her drink in defeat and slumped over in her seat at the bar. Hilarity. Here she is:

The other character we encountered was my new best friend. However, I forget his name. He was too funny. It was his birthday and he kept singing songs with everyone. Here are a few photos of him:
Why am I so gangsta?

Here are just a few random pictures that I found funny:

Karaoke is fun - especially when some young couple gets engaged right after singing "Lady Marmalade" together. Ha! Fucking lame. Not that getting engaged is lame, but could you imagine having to tell people "Yeah. It was my birthday and after we sang a duet to 'Lady Marmalade,' he got down on one knee and asked me to be his bride." Awful.
We sang some gems, but I must say that one of my favorites was Arden's terrific rendition of "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)" by Aerosmith. People were laughing so hard because her performance was filled with gyrations, phallic gestures, loud singing, and all-around great fun. I love Arden! She also kept her song a secret from us and patiently waited for it to play. Also, last time, for my birthday, she also had a great performance. It was to none other than "Welcome To The Jungle." Arden is fabulous. Watching her perform was a great fuckin' time! I can't wait for the next karaoke ridiculousness to see her next song performance. Anyway, here are some photos:

Phallic-ness. (My face is red from laughing so hard):

I also had a fun performance. I sang "Asshole" by Dennis Leary. It was fun. Some girl was amazed that I knew all the words to the rant, but DUH! I love that song because it's so great and offensive and sarcastic. Grand! Here are pictures. Enjoy, friends:

Well, friends. That's all I can remember about Arden's birthday. I love her lots and am going to be super sad when she moves back to Colorado. Oh well. Tomorrow she and I will hang out. So, that will be nice. Take care, internet audience. I like you guys lots!
Peace outside,
Tanya

tansa, i want you to audition for american idol so that when you get chosen and go on national television, you can cue the band and they'll play "asshole" instead of some crap whitney houston song. and then randy jackson will say, "it's a good thing you're drop-dead gorgeous, because that was a little pitchy" and then instead of hanging your head like everyone else, you'll charge him with your boxing blackbelt hands and chop his big fat stupid head off. YEAH! HOORAY! AMERICA LOVES TANYA!
you think if i come visit ya'll, you'll take me to karaoke? looks like too much fun to miss!
